Cruise — Carrier Direct Service
Pros: Low cost
Cons: 3- to 5-day pick-up window, you must be available on the drivers schedule and not your own, meeting the driver at a nearby location to drop off and pick up your vehicle.
If low cost is a high priority, our Cruise option is probably the best fit. For most of our competitors, this is the only option offered. So, if you’re price shopping, this is the rate to use for an apples-to-apples comparison.
Our Cruise option bypasses our network of service centers and instead relies on the large, over-the-road (OTR) car carrier to handle your entire move from beginning to end.
At origin, you’ll be given an estimated 3- to 5-day pick up window for the carrier to pick up your vehicle. The driver will contact you in advance, so you’ll need to be prepared to release your vehicle at any point during the pick-up window. Since this is a large, open car carrier that can’t maneuver through residential areas, the driver will usually establish a nearby location, like a shopping center for pick up so you’ll need to make arrangements to get back home.
Like all our other shipping options, the transit time to destination is up to 14 days. It may not take 14 days, but you or someone you designate when booking, will need to be available to receive the car when the driver arrives. and you’ll need to be ready to receive the car when it arrives. The transit time all depends on the driver’s load and the driving log which requires drivers to stay within the legal requirements for driving hours.
When the driver is close to your destination, you’ll be contacted to prepare for final delivery. This could be anytime during the 14-day window, so If being “on call” to meet the driver poses a problem, we suggest one of our other, more flexible shipping options. Just like at origin, the driver will find a location close to your address where your vehicle can be safely off loaded and released to you.
Powertrain — Service Center to Service Center
Pros: Low cost, doesn’t require that you are “on call” for pick up and delivery and puts you in the driver’s seat for scheduling the release and receipt of your vehicle.
Cons: Requires that you make the necessary arrangements to drop off and pick up the vehicle from the service center.
Our most popular option, the Powertrain service is cost friendly and gives you extra convenience and flexibility in scheduling. Depending on your proximity to our local service centers at origin and destination, Powertrain offers a price point close to our Cruise service without the need to be “on call” when the car carrier arrives to pick up and deliver your vehicle.
When using the Powertrain service, you’ll drop your vehicle off at our nearest service center, on the date of your choosing, where it will be inspected and checked in. From there, your vehicle will be loaded on the over-the-road car carrier and taken to the service center closest to your destination. Upon arrival, the service center will contact you for pick up. This service comes with 3 days of free storage at destination, so you don’t need to drop everything and go when your vehicle arrives.
This a great option if your origin and destination are close to our service centers and/or you don’t mind the drive for drop off and pick up. Powertrain service has a delivery window of up to 14 days from the date of initial drop off at the origin service center. Torque — Service Center to Door
Pros: No need to visit a service center, your vehicle is delivered right to your driveway. Allows for cost savings by dropping off at the origin service center.
Cons: Requires that you make the necessary arrangements to drop off at the origin service center, higher cost for the convenience of scheduled delivery to your driveway.
If you’re ready to add some convenience to the destination end of your shipment, our Torque option is for you. For a modest up charge, your vehicle will be delivered directly to your driveway.
At origin, just like the Powertrain option, you’ll drop off your vehicle, on a date of your choosing, at our nearest service center. From there the vehicle is delivered to the service center nearest your destination. Upon arrival at the destination service center, you’ll be contacted to schedule the final delivery, via flatbed or trailer, to your driveway on the date of your choosing within a 2- to 4-hour window. The Torque service includes a transit time of up to 14 days and If you’re not ready to take delivery on the first date of availability, no problem. Our service center will hold the vehicle for up to 3 days without storage fees.
The Torque service works great when the destination service center is not conveniently located, if you’re moving to a new city and aren’t comfortable driving to or from the service center, or you simply want the convenience of having the vehicle delivered directly to your location.
Turbo — Door to Service Center
Pros: We come to you at origin…no need to leave the house. Allows for a cost saving on the destination end by picking up at our service center.
Cons: Requires that you make the necessary arrangements to pick up from the destination service center, higher cost for the convenience of scheduled pick up from your driveway at origin.
If you need ease-of-use at the start of your shipment, the Turbo service is the perfect option.
At booking, you’ll select a specific date for the pick up of your vehicle. Our nearest service center will contact you prior to that date to schedule a 2-to 4-hour pick-up window. On the selected date, the service center will send a flatbed or small trailer to pick up the vehicle from your driveway. The vehicle will be brought to the secured service center facility to be assigned and loaded onto the over-the-road car carrier. Within our 14-day transit time, the vehicle will arrive at the service center nearest your destination and you’ll be notified for pick up. The vehicle can be held at the service center for up to 3 days without any storage fees.
This is a great option for those shipping a car on “moving day” and can’t leave the house or for those who’ve made a long-distance vehicle purchase and the seller is unable to drive the car to a service center or to meet an over-the-road carrier off-site.
Supercharged — Door to Door
Pros: We come to your driveway for both pick up and final delivery, no driving to and/or from service centers or being “on call” to meet a vehicle carrier at a local parking lot, specific date of pick up and pre-scheduled delivery.
Cons: Higher cost
